Wings secure fourth consecutive road win
The Dallas Wings achieved their fourth consecutive road victory, defeating the Toronto Tempo 108-95 in the first WNBA game held in Montreal. The Wings took control in the fourth quarter of the Friday night matchup, outscoring the Tempo 24-10 in that period.
The game saw a strong offensive display from both teams, with nine players reaching double figures in scoring. Dallas initially faced a deficit, trailing 33-25 at the end of the first quarter. However, they managed to cut the lead to 56-52 by halftime.
The third quarter was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams exchanging baskets. Dallas ultimately pulled ahead in the final quarter, securing the win and completing a four-game road trip with a perfect record.
Bueckers and Mabrey lead offensive showcase
Paige Bueckers of the Dallas Wings delivered a notable performance, scoring 34 points on 13-of-22 shooting from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc, along with six assists. This marked her second time this season reaching the 30-point mark. Bueckers, who is set to start in the upcoming WNBA All-Star game, showcased her scoring ability throughout the game.
She contributed 10 points in the opening quarter, helping to keep the Wings competitive. Bueckers also hit a buzzer-beating jumper to narrow the deficit at halftime. In the third quarter, she added 11 points, including a 3-pointer that tied the game at 70. Her contributions continued into the fourth quarter, where she recorded three assists and scored to give Dallas a 97-91 lead.
For the Toronto Tempo, Marina Mabrey also scored 34 points. Mabrey, a former Dallas Wings player, started strong with 17 points in the first quarter, including two deep 3-pointers that gave Toronto early leads. Despite getting into foul trouble with her third personal foul in the second quarter and her fourth in the opening minute of the third, Mabrey remained effective, scoring 13 points in the third quarter.

The game was characterized by high shooting percentages from both sides, with both teams shooting above 50% from the field and over 40% from the 3-point line. This offensive focus resulted in a high-scoring contest.
Key contributions from other players
Beyond the leading scorers, several other players made significant offensive contributions. Laura Juskaite achieved a career-high with 25 points for Toronto, making 10-of-16 shots from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point range. A substantial portion of her scoring, 12 points, came in the second quarter.
For Dallas, Jessica Shepard continued her strong offensive form, finishing with 20 points and 17 rebounds. Arike Ogunbowale also added 20 points for the Wings, shooting 6-of-11 from the field and 1-of-3 from beyond the arc. Ogunbowale scored the first five points of the third quarter, giving Dallas a 57-56 lead.
Another crucial moment for Dallas came in the fourth quarter when Alysha Clark hit back-to-back 3-pointers after Dallas missed their first two shots, giving them a 90-87 lead. This prompted a timeout from Toronto. Later, after Toronto briefly took a 91-90 lead, Bueckers responded with a jumper to regain a 92-91 lead for Dallas, extending it to 93-91 with a free throw. She then made another jumper and stole the ball, passing it to Shepard, who assisted Clark for a layup, pushing Dallas’s lead to 97-91 with 5:56 remaining in the fourth quarter.
The 2026 WNBA season is underway with new talent, including top draft picks like Azzi Fudd for the Dallas Wings, Olivia Miles for Minnesota, and Lauren Betts for Washington, all looking to make an impact. The defending champion Las Vegas Aces are also aiming for a fourth title in five years.
In another upcoming game, the Los Angeles Sparks are scheduled to host the Chicago Sky on Friday, July 10, with tip-off at 10 p.m. ET at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
