Inter Miami Secures Experienced Midfielder
Inter Miami CF has officially announced the signing of Brazilian international midfielder Casemiro. The five-time UEFA Champions League winner joins the club as a free agent. His contract extends through the conclusion of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, with an additional option for an extension until June 2029. His arrival is pending the receipt of his P-1 Visa.
Casemiro expressed his motivation, stating, “What motivates me the most, and I think this is true for every player, is winning and continuing to grow. The project the Club presented to me, along with the effort everyone made to bring me here, means a lot to me.” He also conveyed his gratitude, adding, “I’m incredibly grateful, and I can’t wait to get started so I can repay that trust—not only during the 90 minutes on matchday, but every day in training as well. All I can say is thank you, and I’ll give everything I have to return the affection and confidence the Club has shown me.”

Co-Owner David Beckham also shared his enthusiasm for the new signing. “I’m very proud to welcome Casemiro and his family to Inter Miami. He is a person and a player that I have admired for a long time. He is a winner who has achieved so much in the game and after such an incredible career with Real Madrid and Manchester United I’m delighted that he’s decided to make Miami his next home,” Beckham stated.
A Career Defined by Success
Casemiro arrives in South Florida following a distinguished career at the highest levels of football. He spent the past three seasons with English Premier League side Manchester United. During his time at United, he scored in the League Cup final victory in 2023 and reached two FA Cup finals, winning the competition in 2024. He was also part of the United side that reached the Europa League final in May 2025. He made 160 appearances for the Red Devils, tallying 26 goals and 14 assists.
Prior to his spell in England, Casemiro had an eight-year tenure with Spanish side Real Madrid CF. With Los Blancos, he secured numerous titles, including five UEFA Champions League titles, three UEFA Super Cups, three FIFA Club World Cups, three LaLiga championships, one Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Super Cups. He made 336 appearances for Real Madrid’s first team, recording 31 goals and 29 assists.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Casemiro began his professional journey at São Paulo FC, making his debut at 18 years old in 2010. He moved to Europe in 2013 to join Real Madrid, initially playing for Real Madrid Castilla. After a loan spell with FC Porto during the 2014-15 campaign, he returned to Madrid and became a key player during a successful era for the club.
On the international stage, Casemiro has been a consistent presence for Brazil for over a decade, earning 91 caps for the Seleção. He helped the nation win the 2019 Copa América title and represented Brazil at the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups. Most recently, he featured for Brazil at the 2026 FIFA World Cup™, starting each of the Seleção’s five matches.
Inter Miami CF acquired Casemiro’s Discover Priority from the LA Galaxy as part of the transaction.
