MSC Cruises is Transforming Family Entertainment at Sea

Posted on 03.05.2026

MSC Cruises is set to launch MSC World Asia in December 2026, introducing a floating amusement park that promises to redefine family entertainment at sea. The ship will feature Europe’s first over-water swing, an attraction that’s sure to thrill guests of all ages.

The floating amusement park will include several attractions designed for families. Among them are the exhilarating Cliffhanger, which boasts Europe’s first over-water swing, and The Harbour, featuring a ropes course, waterslides, and the longest dry slide at sea. Additionally, the Family Aventura District will combine outdoor fun with indoor entertainment spaces, making it an ideal destination for families seeking immersive experiences.

Steve Leatham of MSC Cruises highlighted their commitment to family-friendly vacations: “As a family-owned company, MSC Cruises knows what it takes to keep the whole family happy on holiday.” This focus has driven the cruise line’s evolution as they compete in an industry that’s increasingly prioritizing larger ships and more extravagant amenities.

Currently, MSC Cruises operates 23 ships that sail to over 300 destinations across five continents. The upcoming MSC World Asia will offer seven-night Mediterranean itineraries with stops in vibrant cities like Barcelona, Naples, and Rome—perfect for families looking to explore new cultures together.

The expansion into outdoor theme parks reflects a broader trend towards immersive experiences within the cruise industry. Families are looking for more than just traditional cruising; they want adventures that cater to all ages. This shift indicates how cruise lines are adapting to meet evolving consumer preferences.

With a kids club spanning an impressive 10,000 square feet onboard MSC World Asia, the potential for fun and engagement is enormous. While specific details about all attractions are still being finalized, the promise of bigger and bolder family entertainment at sea is clear.

As this innovative ship prepares for its launch in December 2026, industry observers are eager to see how these attractions will enhance the cruising experience. With so much excitement surrounding this floating amusement park, MSC Cruises may very well set a new standard for family vacations at sea.
