Medal: Deepak Keshwani’s Massey-Ferguson Educational Gold Recognition

Posted on 04.05.2026

Deepak Keshwani will receive the Massey-Ferguson Educational Gold Medal from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, emphasizing the crucial role of engineering education in agricultural systems.

As a tenured professor in the Department of Biological Engineering at Utah State University, Keshwani has dedicated his career to advancing agricultural technology. “It is an honor to be recognized by my peers,” Keshwani said, reflecting on his commitment to education and innovation.

This award highlights a broader trend—recognizing excellence in engineering education is vital for addressing challenges in agriculture. The Massey-Ferguson Educational Gold Medal specifically acknowledges outstanding dedication to this field.

In addition to Keshwani’s achievement, Sara Alkelani has been awarded the Norris Medal, the top academic honor for the Class of 2026 at Clemson University. Interim University President Robert H. Jones expressed pride in her accomplishment: “I am incredibly proud of Sara and want to congratulate her on being named the Norris Medal winner as the top overall student in the class of 2026.”

The Norris Medal recognizes not just academic excellence but also leadership and service—qualities essential for future leaders in any field.

Meanwhile, honoring those who have made significant sacrifices continues as well. Robert J. Miller was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor on October 6, 2010, for acts of valor above and beyond the call of duty. Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Javier Mackey remarked, “Staff Sgt. Miller was one of America’s best; he was one of the few who earned the green beret.” This showcases how recognition can inspire future generations.

As we celebrate these achievements, it’s clear that engineering education plays a pivotal role—not just in academia but across various fields that impact society. The focus now shifts to how these recognitions can foster further innovation and commitment within educational institutions.
