FCA US vehicle recall notice: over 20,000 vehicles recalled due to safety issues

Posted on 30.04.2026

FCA US is recalling over 20,271 vehicles due to a critical safety issue with the instrument display panel. This recall includes approximately 11,743 2024-2025 Jeep Wagoneer S and about 8,528 2024-2025 Dodge Charger EVs.

The problem? A faulty instrument display panel that fails to show gear selection, warning lights, and other essential safety information. A software error is likely behind this malfunction, which means these vehicles do not comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.

On April 1, FCA US LLC became aware of the build issue affecting these models. Owners can expect notification letters in their mailboxes by May 21. In the meantime, they should reach out to customer service at 1-800-853-1403 for more information.

Key details of the recall:

  • The total number of affected vehicles is 20,271.
  • Approximately 11,743 Jeep Wagoneer S from model years 2024-2025 are impacted.
  • Around 8,528 Dodge Charger EVs from model years 2024-2025 are included in this recall.

The Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recall number for this issue is 39D. Vehicle Identification Numbers involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov starting April 30.

This situation raises questions about how many more vehicles might be affected by similar software errors. While FCA has taken steps to notify owners and address the issue, the long-term implications for consumer trust in their brand remain unclear.
